Colby Savary is a composer for film, television, podcasts and concert halls based in Connecticut. He holds a bachelors degree in music technology from Stetson University and a masters degree in music composition from the University of Hartford. He is also a recipient of the New Mexico State University Young Composers Initiative award for his piece Wanderer.
Savary is heavily influenced by many of the great Hollywood composers: Elmer Berstein, Rozsa, Korngold, to name a few and some more modern composers like Williams, Gregson-Williams, and Powell. Prokofiev, Holst, Adams, Maslanka and Fuchs are just a few of Savary’s inspirations for music in the concert hall. This in tandem with an intense education in music gives Savary a wholly original compositional voice.
When he’s not composing or editing music, Savary likes to spend time with his wife, Madelyn or go out on the Farmington River to fly-fish.
